We've created this archive to highlight many of the one of a kind bags that have been made and sold by Forestbound in the past decade. Each and every bag is unique and tells its own individual story. Enjoy browsing through this collection of our thoughtfully crafted pieces and we hope that one of them might spark something nostalgic inside of you.
All of the textiles used for Forestbound Originals are found by Alice at flea markets, estate sales, antique shows, and many other corners of New England. Alice spends a significant amount of time processing, cleaning, and appreciating the materials before they are turned into bags. At Forestbound, each step of the creation process is just as important as the final product; no detail goes unchecked and no duffle bag gets cut before we say thank you to the GIs who carried them decades ago.
Forestbound Originals are inspired by textiles that have a story to tell. We are honored to work with military canvas that journeyed alongside our GIs in various wars of decade0s past. Both of Alice's grandfathers served in WWII (Arpiar G. Saunders is pictured here on the right) and her passion for both history and family are at the heart of Forestbound.
